About the MS Walk and Fun Run
In winter, it’s all too easy to ditch your exercise regimen and hide under the doona. Taking part in the MS Winter Warm-up will not only get the blood pumping and put the roses back in your cheeks, it will also make you feel warm inside for contributing to a great cause!
WALKERS: Join 5000 others for the warm-up exercises and celebrations before making your way along the beautiful Sydney Harbour Foreshore Stroll or power-walk, travel by wheelchair, pram or stroller, wear serious sports gear or wacky team costumes. Whatever you choose, you will be helping to support thousands of Australians living with multiple sclerosis.
The event will start and finish from the picturesque Hyde Park and will follow a scenic track around Sydney, through the Rocks and by the iconic Opera House.
Walk routes are between 5km and 16km and take in some of Sydney City's most scenic and iconic parklands, gardens and bridges. All walking courses are stroller and wheelchair friendly. Watch out for our roving entertainers along the way. Recover, relax and replenish at the finish line and enjoy live music, loads of entertainment for the whole family and a tasty BBQ lunch.
RUNNERS: The iconic 8km Run even is based at Bradfield Park, Milsons Point. Run through the harbour-side streets of Milsons Point to Balls Head reserve and return. There are plenty of steps and hills throughout the course to challenge those leg muscles. Finish with a sprint down the famous Luna Park boardwalk. When the run is done, you might want to finish off your day’s exercise by taking part in the walk event as well, and joining in all of the post-event activities.
