The MS Walk Run + Roll is a Fundraising event, raising money to support people living with MS. All your fundraising efforts, however large or small, are appreciated!
To get you started, here are some ideas and tips to help inspire you reach your fundraising goal.
Increasing your efforts on your social platforms (to share via FB, Instagram, twitter) This remains as relevant now as it ever has. Personalising your fundraising page and using the e-tools on the event website to post on your social channels are great ways of letting your network in the online community know how they can show their support.
Virtual Friday night (after work) drinks or Monday morning coffee. Chat for a cause. A great excuse to dress up (create a theme) too!
Online movie or tv show viewing for a small fee – watch at the same time and have an opening address to all via an online platform to thank them and celebrate what they are doing (deliver a movie snack pack to the door of your attendees’ hours prior to the screening). Netflix has a party application via Chromecast and all viewers can watch simultaneously and post comments in the chat.
Virtual Quiz Event (cover fee as a donation direct to your fundraising page and play via online platform like zoom, FB livestream plus a variety of places that are hosting free online quiz questions to save you the effort)
Knitting (special skill or interest) challenge or online workshop
Invite your friends to learn a new skill or put current talents to the test with a challenge or workshop – a bit of friendly rivalry and above all some laughs as you raise funds while connecting over something you enjoy.
NB This could also be a virtual class in many things if you or someone you know is qualified – yoga, meditation, personal training. Keep it to something that can be done in the home and with little to no equipment.
Auction off your team name
For those walking or running in a team, why not auction off the team name - highest bidder wins! This can be done in conjunction with a fundraising event or over a certain period. Whoever gives the highest single donation amount gets to pick your team name.
Virtual walk – take a tour of a landmark or location and be an online guide for a donation (via an online platform like twitch, zoom or FB).
Fundraiser driven incentives – provide little incentives to your donors when they help you reach a milestone in your fundraising (i.e.: written note, pie to your face online, eat your most disliked food online, colour your hair).
Kids online activity with donation cost attached to it (art, craft, game to free up parents while they’re stuck at home with kids and give family something to do – like Lego masters challenge, art class, even online video game session).
