2024 Melbourne MS Walk Run + Roll

NO ONE SHOULD FACE MS ALONE!

Can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), unable to get out of bed, walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or live a life without pain?

All of a sudden, your world has changed.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic and often debilitating disease which attacks the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves). It is the most common neurological disease in young adults and often attacks people at a time in their lives when they are planning families and building a career. Three out of four people living with MS are women.

With your support, we can allow people living with multiple sclerosis access to vital support services, like MS Connect, MS Peer Support and MS Employment Support Programs. We’ll also be helping bring new treatments closer to reality, investing in repairing myelin damage to restore function that has been lost for people with progressive forms of the disease.

On behalf of over 33,300 Aussies living with multiple sclerosis – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Raising awareness

Monday 11th Mar
MS is one of those things I fund raised for as a kid and never thought it would happen to me or to anyone I knew.
Unfortunately while I was still at school, my drama teacher was diagnosed with MS. It wasn’t long before she was in a wheelchair, seriously incapacitated. It changed her life forever, and later it took her life, far too young.
We tend to live our lives in a bubble, getting on with the busyness of our day, seldom raising our heads to take in the scenery and the people around us.
With this walk I hope to make a difference. Not just for the lives of those I know who are affected by MS, but for all those MS Warriors out there, who get up every day and overcome the fear of what might happen today that will change their life forever.
Simple functions like picking up a cup, having a shower and getting dressed. How long can I drive a car or can I go for a walk without falling over?
We need answers, treatment, support, understanding.
We need your help. We can’t do it without money.
Will you continue to be in your bubble or will you take a moment and help us make a difference?
