MEET DEEPTHI WIJESEKERA

7 APRIL 2024

Deepthi is joining the 2024 Canberra MS Walk Run + Roll for the first time ever.

She has already raised over $1,600 towards the event, to ensure that over 33,300 Australians living with multiple sclerosis, can meet their goals, live well, and not have to face MS alone.

When asked why she is taking part Deepthi mentioned the local community in Canberra.

Although I do not have an immediate family member or friend affected by MS, given the prevalence of neurological diseases affecting our community, the MS Walk Run + Roll means a lot to me.

Deepthi is looking forwards to being part of the fundraising effort, as a way to give some of her time and effort for such a worthy cause.

I believe that this event is a great way to 'offer a bit of your time and effort' in raising awareness for MS to give hope to people affected by this condition.

One to look at the big picture, Deepthi reflects on the 2024 MS Walk Run + Roll as a event series that across Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Launceston, can make a huge impact in the month of May.

It is all the lovely people across the nation who take the initiative and effort to participate in events such as this that could really make things happen. By raising awareness and funds that could contribute to a tangible difference - help people with MS to live their lives with the best long-term options and outcomes available as well as to promote research for better treatment of neurological diseases such as MS.

Having already raised an incredible amount for a first time participant in the event Deepthi has some fantastic fundraising tips for anyone taking part for the first time, or maybe the 10th time.

Approach your fundraising with enthusiasm, zeal and drive to make a difference in the lives of people living with MS. Raising awareness of the significance of an event such as MS Walk Run + Roll to friends and family - the fact that collectively we could make a huge difference!
