Meet Desi and Dayna

3 FEBRUARY 2026

Multiple sclerosis does not just affect the diagnosed person, it also impacts their friends, family and community. No one wants to see their loved one go through the uncertainly, isolation and adjustment that comes with an MS diagnosis.

Dayna was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2023, and like so many families hers was thrown into a new world of navigating medical terms, treatments and emotions. Her mother, Desi says, “As a family, we’ve rallied around Dayna to support her physically, emotionally, and mentally. MS has reshaped how we look at health, community, and the importance of awareness and support.”

Having seen how isolating it can feel when living with MS, Desi committed to raising funds and awareness about the disease, so no one has to face MS alone. This is how she came to love the MS Walk Run + Roll, it was an opportunity to help the MS community feel seen, heard and celebrated. She helped turn a difficult situation into a positive action.

On event day, Desi, Dayna and their MSLAY team come together to walk or run and enjoy the sausage sizzle together, celebrating their achievements. It is an incredible day, filled with love and support for the MS community.

The sense of community is incredible. Being surrounded by people who get it and truly understand, whether they live with MS, support someone who does, or simply want to help, it is incredibly powerful and moving to see. It doesn’t matter if you walk, run, or roll, everyone is there for the same reason and with a smile on their face.

Desi and Dayna can’t wait to join us again this year, especially looking forward to connecting with other members of the MS community and hearing their story. After Dayna’s diagnosis, Desi has found a passion in participating in fitness challenges to raise awareness and funds for MS. She even ran a half marathon in 2025!

For Desi, it’s about putting one foot in front of the other for Dayna and the MS community and showing Dayna that anything is possible.

Desi has this message to her fellow participants:

Thank you. Every step you take, every dollar you raise, and every conversation you start makes a real difference. Your support helps fund vital services and support for people living with MS and their families. You may not always see the impact firsthand, but please know that it matters more than you realise. Together, we’re not just raising money, we’re raising awareness, hope, and showing people with MS that they are supported every step of the way.

We can’t wait to welcome Dayna, Desi and team MSLAY back in 2026, see you out on the course guys!
