Living with MS, or loving someone with MS, can be tricky.
MS can affect people in so many different ways. Fatigue, pain, vision problems, mobility issues, vertigo, brain fog, tinnitus, bladder issues - the list goes on. That's because MS can cause damage anywhere in the brain or spinal cord. And the brain controls... pretty much everything. Also, people mostly get diagnosed with MS between 20 and 40 years old. So it can strike at a time when people still have a lot of life to live.
And that's why events like the MS Walk Run + Roll are so important.
The funds raised will help the 37,756 Aussies living with MS access vital services, support and specialist advice when they need it most, ensuring that no one has to face MS alone.
There have also been incredible advances in MS treatment over the last few decades. Twenty-five years ago, there were only a handful of modestly effective treatment options available. Today, there are more than 20. That's 20 chances for someone to find a treatment that works. A treatment that can slow progression, preserve independence, and give people more years of walking, working, raising families, travelling, celebrating milestones, and living the lives they want to live.
We've come a long way, but there's still more to do. We're fighting for better awareness, and better support for people living with MS, so they can access the advice, services and community they need to live the best life possible.
Thank you so much for your support!!
