NO ONE SHOULD FACE MS ALONE!

Can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), unable to get out of bed, walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or live a life without pain?

All of a sudden, your world has changed.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic and often debilitating disease which attacks the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves). It is the most common neurological disease in young adults and often attacks people at a time in their lives when they are planning families and building a career. Three out of four people living with MS are women.

With your support, we can allow people living with multiple sclerosis access to vital support services, like MS Connect, MS Peer Support and MS Employment Support Programs. We’ll also be helping bring new treatments closer to reality, investing in repairing myelin damage to restore function that has been lost for people with progressive forms of the disease.

On behalf of over 33,300 Aussies living with multiple sclerosis – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Why I’m walking for MS

Wednesday 26th Mar

In January this year, my husband was diagnosed with MS. Not even three months ago, our world shifted sideways. It was a shock. It was scary. And it’s all still very new.

Watching him go through not one but two hospital stays during a major flare-up has been incredibly tough. While he won’t be walking this weekend (direct sun and heat is disastrous for his condition just now), I will be—because MS is a lifelong disease, and we’ve got a long road ahead in understanding how life with it will play out.

So that’s why I’m joining the Sydney MS Walk Run + Roll—to raise vital funds for the 33,300 Australians living with MS and to ensure no one has to face it alone. MS is a chronic and often debilitating neurological condition, striking people in the prime of their lives when they’re building careers and planning families. There’s no cure… yet. But with your support, we can fund essential services, life-changing research, and help people like my husband live well with MS.

If you can, please donate. Your generosity means the world.
