Why I'm doing the MS Walk this year
Wednesday 19th FebAlright Melbourne friends (or anyone else for that matter), on May 18th this year I will be doing the 10km MS WALK here in Melbourne around Albert Park Lake.
This is an event that this year is fairly personal for me.
Recently I was diagnosed with CIS. It all started in November 2023, I had what started out as a bit of a blurry eye and colour vision loss, so a few trips to an optometrist and then ophthalmologist saw me going directly into hospital to the neurology and immunology department for a few nights with Optic Neuritis. I’ve had what feels like a million MRIs and other tests and have been going to the MS clinic now every few months for nearly 1.5 years
Believe it or not, there is a brain in there (contrary to my mother’s beliefs). I’m still having tests and MRIs and seeing the MS specialists, so because I have been seeing MS Neurologists and MS nurses and using their services, I wanted to do the walk this year to try and raise a few bucks to give back.
I understand not everyone is in the position to donate and that’s totally fine. What I would love is if you’re in Melbourne and wanted to donate, why not sign up for the event and do the 10km walk with Harvey and I instead?! If you want to, join our team and go for a stroll! Much love everyone!
