2026 Melbourne MS Walk Run + Roll

NO ONE SHOULD FACE MS ALONE!

Can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), unable to get out of bed, walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or live a life without pain?

All of a sudden, your world has changed.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic and often debilitating disease which attacks the central nervous system (the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves). It is the most common neurological disease in young adults and often attacks people at a time in their lives when they are planning families and building a career. Three out of four people living with MS are women.

With your support, we can allow people living with multiple sclerosis access to vital support services, like MS Connect, MS Peer Support and MS Employment Support Programs. We’ll also be helping bring new treatments closer to reality, investing in repairing myelin damage to restore function that has been lost for people with progressive forms of the disease.

On behalf of over 37,756 Aussies living with multiple sclerosis – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Walking Strong with MS: Supported Every Step of the Way

Friday 1st May
Living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has been a journey full of unexpected turns, challenges, and learning how to adapt. When I was first diagnosed, there were so many unknowns. Questions about the future, my health, and how life might change felt overwhelming at times. But over the years, I’ve learned that while MS is part of my story, it does not define who I am.

One of the most important things I’ve discovered is the value of staying active and connected. Participating in the MS Walk is more than just completing a walk around the lake—it’s a reminder of strength, resilience, and the incredible community standing behind everyone affected by MS.

Every year, taking part in the walk feels meaningful. My MS is currently well managed and under control, which is something I’m grateful for. Managing MS takes consistency, listening to my body, and working closely with my healthcare team, but it has allowed me to keep doing the things I love and focus on living life.

None of this would be possible without the support of my family,  loved ones and friends. They have been my cheerleaders, my support crew, and sometimes my much-needed listening posts. Whether it’s checking in, showing up to events, walking beside me, or simply understanding when I need rest, it's this support that has made all the difference.

The MS Walk is also a chance to give back—to raise awareness, support research, and stand with others navigating similar challenges. Every step represents hope: hope for continued advancements in treatment, hope for stronger support networks, and hope for one day finding a cure.

To everyone who has supported me on this journey over the years or just starting out—thank you. Your encouragement means more than words can say.

And to anyone living with MS: keep going, keep advocating for yourself, and remember that even on the hard days, you are never walking alone.
