Giving Back to Those Who Gave to Me
Can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), unable to get out of bed, the simple joy of working or socialising slipping through your fingers or live a life without pain?
All of a sudden, your world has changed.
On May 8th, 2024, my world changed. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS)—something I never expected to become part of my story.
Some days, I feel okay. Mose days, I wake up dizzy, weak, and so fatigued I can barely function. That’s life with MS. It’s unpredictable. It’s often invisible. And it’s incredibly tough.
This past year has been the hardest of my life—but I haven’t gone through it alone. Thanks to the incredible support from MS Plus, I’ve had guidance, education, care, and connection every step of the way. They’ve helped me more than words can truly explain.
For years, I worked and volunteered for charities. I never imagined I’d one day become someone who needed one. Now, with my amazing friend Saley—who’s been by my side through it all—we’re walking to raise funds for MS Plus, and to give back to the community that’s helped carry me when I couldn’t stand on my own.
Please support our walk if you can. Your donation will help provide life-changing services, fund crucial research, and remind thousands of Aussies living with MS that they’re not alone.
From the bottom of my heart—and on behalf of over 33,300 Australians living with MS—thank you for your kindness, support, and belief in a better future.
