PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH MS
Hi friends
As you know, I’ve been living with MS since 2011.
I’ve been pretty lucky as it hasn’t affected me too much – mostly I’ve had intermittent numbness, some brain fog and am more easily fatigued.
But living with MS means living with uncertainty as to how the disease progresses.
Over the last few years my left leg has become noticeably weaker and I am no longer able to enjoy walking long distances like I used to. Nevertheless, I don't have too much to complain about.
However, for some people MS can have a more debilitating effect. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system — the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. It’s the most common neurological disease affecting young adults, often striking at a time when people are building careers, starting families, and planning their futures. Three out of four people living with MS are women.
Your support makes a real difference. I am participating in the MS Walk Run & Roll on Sunday, 19th April and would really appreciate your donation.
With your help, people living with MS can access vital services like MS Connect, peer support, and employment support programs that help us stay connected, independent, and hopeful. Your support also helps fund research to bring new treatments closer — including work focused on repairing myelin damage to restore function for people living with progressive MS.
On behalf of the more than 37,000 Australians living with multiple sclerosis — including me — thank you for your support.
